The female had never felt so alone in the her young life. everything with this new pack seemed to be falling apart. She raised her maw to the sky, golden optics finding the full moon as it fell down onto the white sheet of snow below. The sound of owls hooting and all the skirting of little paws found the Alphess' ears. Both of her packmates had confessed their love for her, and she couldn't feel more confused. Nazareth had found understanding in her words while Achak had taken it badly and crushed the females heart. Alluri wasn't sure how long she had stared at that moon, but it must have been quite a long time. Her paws were beginning to feel numb, but she didn't move a muscle. There was nothing she could do.

The meadow was peaceful. The white wolf could see nothing but the soft coat of snow on the ground and the black-blue sky over her head. It was all lit up by the moons glow, reflecting her small shadow into it. A few whines were locked in the females throat, and all she wanted to do was let them out. The urge to sing, to howl, to express all her pain was on the tip of her tongue. But, the last thing she wanted was to alert her packmates and send them here to interrupt her peace. Eventually the urge just became too much for the female, and once again her maw rose to the sky.

When she couldn't take it any longer, she began to sing. A low, mournful song escaping her voice. To anyone hearing, you would think something horrible had played out to the small female. After one howl came to an end, another played in it's path. A song that told the story of a emotionally injured wolf who had lost all hold on everything around her. She was lost, that's exactly what it was. The entire world felt like it was balanced on her shoulders and now she had completely dropped it. Shattering it to little bitty pieces that now lay at her paws. Alluri was the living version of it. Someone who had lost themselves in the lost path for love.

All she had tried to do was reason, yet all that did was cause trouble. She had torn the closeness that a pack was supposed to keep a tight hold on. What kind of Alphess was she? A horrible one, so to speak. She was supposed to be holding her pack together at such a hard life line, instead she was only causing them to pull further apart and split. Her pack was falling apart, the loyal bonds being broken. And it was all her fault. Eventually her sorrow filled voice came to an end and she found herself curling into a ball in the cold snow. She would sleep here tonight. Freeze if she would, she felt she deserved it.

So lowering her small head to her paws, the only thing that stood out was the gray diamond on her forehead and the gray dorsal stripe that found it's way to the tip of her tail. Finally, golden hued eyes closed and she found herself in a torturous nightmare.

The wind came down from the clouds, spreading throughout his sacred valley until it reached his frail undercoat. Nipping and biting its winter warnings into the delicate skin, the chill brought a slight shake to the large bodied wolf. Having returned to this morning's spot, some blood was left stained upon the ground, most covered by the scurrying snowflakes. Snow fairies continued to twirl down from the Heavens, their ballet so fragile Alexei felt as if he shouldn't even breathe. Lying the marmot ever-so delicately on the snow around him, Alexei took a moment to reminisce. What became of the Delta and Beta? Did they finally tear each other apart? Achak was slightly stupid, young and juvenile in his approach but the Beta's arrogant and demeaning attitude only bothered Alexei equally. Either way, whichever one won the battle of wits held no interest for him. Their fight was only causing a rift in their pack's harmony, and all over a female? Ridiculous.

Paw upon his caught prey, the mere thought of sickening his fangs into made his mouth water. Marmots were especially rare during this time of year, many having already hibernating. This one, however, was late upon his approach and due to the hardening ground, digging an underground burrow was near impossible. Well fed for winter, plump with nutritious meat, it was a beautiful sight for the hungry. In a swift move, the ivory figure blended with the environment, lying peacefully with his meal. As his jaws wrapped about it, dinner would have gone without any interruptions if it weren't for the sudden, miserable howls.

The Hell is that noise? Pulling away, Alexei could still feel the marmot's warmth in his mouth. Each howl was followed by another exactly like its predecessor, the moon wrapping itself in clouds as attempting to block the horrid sound. Whomever's it was, their pain was evident but the source of the pain was unknown. Enormous paws made their mark in the surrounding snow as, along with their meal, they followed the sound out of mere curiosity. Traveling across the snow-white sea, their distance was gradually closed until a miniscule ball was visible.

The snow fairies' dance lie upon this she-wolf's fur in haste, as if trying to hide her from the world and mask her pain. This wolf was clearly the source of the howl but their position held their identity. Approaching with only deep breaths and crunching snow as warning, the large male stopped a fox length from the unknown company. The marmot fell from his warm keep, its fallen body accompanying her on the frigid snow. Hunter-green slits caressed up the dorsal stripe until it finally came to a diamond which possibly belonged to where her head lie. Eying where the head was to be in the ball of fluff, the masculine tone was abrupt in winter's silence, "You will freeze like that, Snowflake," adapting his own name for her until one was provided, his continued, "come now, whatever woe has your singing such a sad tone isn't worth death. Death is too easy of an escape, it's just another form of running away."

PostSubject: Re: A Painful Song[Only open to Rogues&EssencePackMembers]   A Painful Song[Only open to Rogues&EssencePackMembers] EmptySun Oct 13, 2013 6:27 pm

The second her eyes had closed, the world outside disappeared. The nipping cold had left her fur. Now, in her mind, she stood in a battlefield. It was a mess of blood and flying fur as wolf turned on wolf. She stood, cornered, legs trembling and wounds aching. Then suddenly, a deep voice shook her from her dream. Golden hued eyes flicked open, and in a moments pass, the wind was tearing at her fur again. At first, all she saw was a figure, and she was unsure whom, or what it was. A low growl rumbled in her throat, until she saw that this was not one of her pack mates or a wolf from the rival pack. This wolf's pelt held the smell of snow, dirt, and the forest. It was a rogue she had not yet met. She seized the growl. What kind of threat was a rogue to an Alphess?

As he spoke, her ears slowly rose to catch his voice. The female would sigh quietly, and raise her maw to look at him. She hadn't been trying to kill herself, simply trying to escape the world for a while and get some much needed rest. A small whine would escape her throat as she looked up, golden eyes met green. She must have looked so pathetic to the male. Lying here on the ground, almost completely buried in the snow. With another small sigh, Alluri lifted her head, lazily shaking the snow from it. There was no motivation in her at all right now. "What brings you to the meadow?" She murmured in a gentle tone, now seeing the wolf in front of her clearly.

His pelt was similar to hers. Making him a blur in the slight snow that fell from the sky. The only thing that made them different was the gray markings that the Alphess carried on her pelt. She assumed he had heard her song and had become curious, but, he could have easily just saw her and left well enough alone. What had made him stay? Silently, she was pretty ticked off. Her dream might of been scary, but this cold would be the death of her. Raising her small muzzle, Alluri looked to the sky, studying the moon and the clouds that started to form around it, blocking it's beautiful glow from the she wolf's sights.

Something told her that this night was only going to get worse before it got better, and hell, she was extremely nervous about it.

Well, ain't she a ball of sunshine. Resisting a snicker, Alexei simply watched as the female uncoiled from her position. At first, he expected the underlying growl to erupt, perhaps be followed by a snap of the jaws or two, but instead the faint rumble died down. Face emerging from the snow, her features were familiar but not distinct. "Hmmm," he peered closer, ignoring her small whine for a moment, "now, you wouldn't be the Alphess of Moonstone, now would you?" If she were, Alexei wouldn't hide the potential grin that hid behind his muzzle, but if she wasn't then the grin would simply melt away, without any trace of its possible existence.  "What brings you to the meadow?" came the she-wolf's delicate and soft voice, the tone seemingly so fragile it would crack.

Clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth, Alexei lie near her, one paw pushing the marmot closer to her. "Food, actually. Seems my earlier meal went...disturbed." were she the Alphess the two males were just so infatuated with, Alexei would only find this moment more humorous. Though he did not know, it was possible her low spirits were due to their not-so silent conflicts. "A love triangle is such trouble, isn't it?" he inquired, his voice on the edge of a whisper. Should she respond, his suspicions would be cleared yet if she showed confusion, then perhaps she was just another uninvolved pack wolf.

The company of the male actually made the Alphess relax. If only a little bit. At least it wasn't another argument with her pack mates or another fight with the leader of the Essence Pack, Henoia. Things were completely imbalanced here in the Valley. Pack was against pack, and now the Moonstone had an internal fight between it's strongest members. Oh, how badly she was failing with the role of Alphess. The second she was back, they were all in for a council meeting. And if necessary, ranks would be dropped. Flicking her ears up, she realized that this rogue was familiar with her pack. Now, Alluri rose to her paws, sitting back on her haunches and studying the white wolf with a curious gaze. Her gray, diamond shape glowed on her forehead in the moonlight, making her look like an actual queen. Her golden eyes studied the male, only curiously beaming at him.

How could he know such a thing? She had not seen him in her entire life, or at least not that she could recall of. Her ears tilted forward. "Yes, I am. Alphess Alluri of Moonstone. Pleasure to meet you..." She left the last part blank. Though she was the highest of all here, she lowered her head in a dip of respect. This male had shown her nothing but kindness, and she would do the same back to him. Though she was a strong and violent leader, Alluri knew her boundaries, she was fair. Her ear gave a flick as she listened to the male address his name, then she would give another dip of the head before focusing on the next words that left his mouth.

A love triangle? That was new. Yet, the Alphess was almost knocked off her calm composure. How could a rogue know of he conflicts in her pack? Oh, her Delta and Beta would here about this one. Rogues could guess a lot, but this was not a matter of guessing. He had met with either one of them, or both of them. And yet, not a single pack wolf had come to her to explain. Hell, Alluri didn't even know there was a rogue wandering the neutral lands. That was information that was supposed to be passed on in case of an ambush. Especially by her Beta, who she assumed had been in contact. Whatever sadness had once been in the royal wolf had now flown out the window. For a moment, white ears tightly found her head and another low growl wandered in her throat. Though it wasn't aimed at the wolf in front of her, more toward the trouble her pack mates were in for.

Forcing the growl to seize, she gave a light shake of her head; As though she were clearing it of the nasty thoughts that were coursing through. "Please excuse my nasty attitude, but, how do you know of this, 'love triangle' that goes on in my pack? I have not yet heard of a rogue in the valley, let alone my other royals being in contact with. Please, tell me the story, they are already digging themselves a grave in the Omega session." The growl once again found itself in the females throat as her golden eyes lost all curiosity and was replaced by a sudden strong anger. Though, when the male spoke, she quieted.

Small white-gray paws knitted at the snow below. Her claws would penetrate the cold mush before seeping back to the surface. Her ears were flicking in aggression and her tail slightly curled. She made sure her aggression was known, but that the rogue knew it wasn't aimed at him. She had no issue with the male, at least not at the moment. The only problem she had would soon be resolved with a clash with her Beta and Delta who had played innocent for too long.
